SO..... Guess What?!?!

These past five days have been some of the LONGEST days of my life as I have been waiting to know about whether or not I got accepted into the Master of Counseling Program at Idaho State University. I have been going back and forth in my mind, thinking of what my reaction would be either way. I even had a dream last night that I didn't get in and I woke up crying and traumatized. It's been a pretty crazy week, to say the least!
So today while I was in staff meeting at work I got a text message from my roommate, Melissa, saying that I needed to come home NOW because my letter had come. I couldn't leave so I texted her back and told her to open the letter and tell me what it said. She texted me back and told me that she wouldn't do it because she felt like I should do it. I told her that I could not wait that long to know and I wanted her to open it NOW! We texted back and forth a few times arguing about it. I finally told her that she was KILLING me and I needed to know. She then texted me back after what seemed like an eternity and told me that I GOT IN!!! Yep! That's right! I was accepted to the Master of Counseling program (Mental Health Counseling)at Idaho State University. It was all that I could do to not jump up in middle of my staff meeting and start screaming and jumping up and down out of pure excitement! I almost started crying because I was so dang excited! I'll be honest, I got super misty! I told my colleagues and we all went to lunch at Buddy's! It was delish!

I really am so humbled and thankful for this opportunity! I thank my Father in Heaven for this opportunity to further my education and better cultivate and develop my talents. I look forward to what the next two years have in store for me with much anticipation!

Sigh of RELIEF!!!

Well, the interview is OVER! What a relief!!! I feel pretty confident but I'm not quite sure what The Big Guy Upstairs has in store for me. They said that we would find out sometime next week via mail. I promise to keep ya posted!

On another note... We are getting ready to move into our new facility which is pretty exciting! We are expanding from 8 residential clients to 12 and possibly 14 in the future so there are big and exciting things in store for us here in the near future! I am sure it will be a great growing and learning experience on so many different levels. I just found out that the office that I have been working on and getting exactly how I want it has to be converted into one of the bedrooms. I was so happy with the blue and brown paint job that I did. I must confess that it looks DANG good, even if I do say so myself! Needless to say I am pretty sad. I lost my dream office. It's all good because I get a new office that is blue and I still like it but it's not MY office yet! Don't worry though, this is a great opportunity to take my lemons and turn them into a Delicious thirst quenching lemon aide! It will be MY new dream office before too long!

The BIG Day has come...

These past few months I have been contemplating applying the counseling program at ISU as an attempt to earn my master's in counseling... considering that I am a substance abuse counselor for adolescents and have noticed the increase need of mental health counseling for some the clients that have the opportunity to work with I thought that it would better prepare me to provide the services that they need. Well I sent in my application and have been invited back for an interview TOMORROW at 8:30 A.M.!!! I am so excited and at the same time so dang nervous! I guess we will see what happens!!! I found out that there are 31 people interviewing and it is my understanding that they accept around 23 applicants at the very most, so... that makes my chances of getting in around 74%!!! I promise to keep ya posted!!! AHHHHH!!! ;~)
