It's been a while...

Ok, so in the last post that I worte I said that I would repent of my slacker ways... Well, I really have tried, I promise! The problem is that at first I had so many pictures on my camera, over 600, that it took WAY TOO long to upload them all on my blog, so I decided to convert them to CDS so that I wouldn't have as many pictures on my camera at a time THEN while I was at my dad's house getting ready to upload some pictures to ensure that my blog would be some what intersting, His new puppy Daisy chewed my cord that connects my camera to the computer... So I am in the process of getting a new cord so that I can bring my blog up to date.... Thank you for your patience! I promise not to make you wait much longer! Until next time!!!

What more can I say than "I'm a slacker!"

Ok, so it has been forever since I have published any posts... What more can I say than "I'm a slacker!" I have repented of my slacker ways and as a result you now have 5, yep that's right 5, new post to read after this one. So sit back, relax and get comfortable... you might be here for a while! Oh and one last thing... I think that it is SO FUNNY how that people who make fun of me for taking so many pictures are the very ones who are asking me for copies... ;~)

Frustration at work!!!

Ok, don't get me wrong... I LOVE my job, but this past week has been one that you just might consider less than desirable. It all started on Monday. I had worked Sunday midnight to Monday morning and had to come back Monday afternoon to work from 4 to midnight. I came to work at 4 on almost no sleep, but still in a pretty good mood and started making dinner for the kids. Around 5 O'clock I got a phone call from a man who seemed to be quite irate. His brother had taken his cigarettes to a group and the counselor who was facilitating the group had confiscated them and destroyed them, So this, "gentleman", for lack of better words, called wanting to talk to this counselor. When I informed him that she was not in he told me that I was going to take care of the situation for her then and told me that he would be at MK Place in five minutes and I had better have his cigarettes or money to replace the pack that had been destroyed. I had no idea as to what had even happened and so I called the counselor. She told me that it might be a good idea to call the cops, just in case, this "gentleman" has been known to cause BIG problems in the past and if I needed any help to call her back. I was so scared... Shaking in my boots. Without fail, less than five minutes later this "gentleman" showed up at the door. It was a guy that I had gone to High School with and when I realized who it was, I was no longer afraid. I told this "gentleman" that I was not intimidated by him and that he was not going to get his cigarettes back nor would we replace them, that he had no right to be upset with us but rather should be upset with his brother who took them to group in the first place. Ok, so that took care of that, he left VERY upset with me but at least I didn't have to suffer a beating for it, Like I thought I might have to.

Next Frustration of the week... Two of my clients are in jail... Not for using drugs though, so I guess that reflects good on my part as their drug and alcohol counselor. I had to go to the jail to meet with them, that was quite the experience. They know what they need to do and how to do it, the challenge comes in actually doing it. I guess that goes for all of us on some degree or another.

Last Frustration of the week that I will bore you with, even though there are MANY more... A client came to my group HIGH! Yep, that's right. When he walked in I looked at him and had my suspicions but didn't say anything. Then he got all defensive and asked me why I was looking at him, I told him no reason and asked why he was so defensive and paranoid. He then said that I probably thought he was high, I told him I wasn't going to lie and that the thought had crossed my mind. I then asked him to go into the building to take a U.A. He went in and told them that he couldn't go pee so they sent him back to my group with some water... He never came to my group but instead ran. I guess you can chalk that one up to a dirty U.A. Bless his heart! He's in jail now too. When will these kids ever learn? The funny part of the whole thing is that I had some new kids in my group and as we were reviewing my group rules the very first one the kids mentioned was... Do NOT come to group high! So I guess they are learning... Slowly but surly!

"How could all of this happen in just one week?" You might be asking yourself, well there is plenty more from where that came from... If you are interested in knowing more, just drop me a line, I would be happy to share. I guess you might think that I am pretty negative about my job from reading this, but in all reality I love what I do, even though it can be VERY CHALLENGING at times. I guess you gotta take the bad with the good!

Drive-In... Bourne Ultimatum

So just recently, maybe within the last few months I have become absolutly obessesed with the Bourne movies!! I was so sad when I wasn't able to go to see the new one right when it came out... I was working... Is that any big surprize? I think not! So tonight a bunch of my friends, my new roommate Melissa and I decided to go the drive-in, have a bbq and watch the new Bourne Ultimatum movie. It was soooo much fun! Here are some pictures from that.

Look at Melissa GO! Only home from the mission 2 months and already she has men lining up to take her out! WoW! How does she do it? It must be that recently returned missionary glow... isn't she BEAUTIFUL? I sure do think so!

This is my new companion... I mean roommate Melissa. She just recently returned home from her mission. I have enjoyed SO MUCH being able to witness the process of making the ever so fun transformation from missionary to a "normal" person again. She is TOO cute! I love her!

Here is to the girls that I love!!!

So one of my most favorite things about the whole college experience has been ROOMMATES! I have loved every single one and have learned so much from each one. I guess the reason this topic is on my mind is because our apartment has just had one roommate move on, going to grad school in Portland and we are going to have another move on to eternal marriage here in just one short week. Jo, Sara, Sarah and I have SO MUCH fun and while it is true that I will REALLY miss living with Jo and Sara, I am so excited for the new adventures that await each of them and I am certain that they will keep in very close contact! I Love you girls!!!

Good Music, Good Food and GREAT Company, what more could you ask for?

Our friend Jose invited Sara and I to go to their branch party in Burley, Idaho. SO MUCH FUN! It took me right on back to the mission days, which was a very good thing considering that August 5th, 2007 was my 3 year home from the mission mark. It was good to be taken back and reflect on some of my fondest, most sacred and precious memories! The food was AMAZINGLY delicious... Wow! The next weekend we were invited back to go to a quiencenera, good times! I forgot my camera so there aren't any pictures of that but it was a great experience nonetheless! I had been to a quiencenera before, but the best part about this one was that I COULD DANCE this time... and so I did! I had a blast!

The 24th of July!!!

For the 24th of July my mom and brother convinced me to go down to Salt Lake City to Celebrate and spend time with the family. At first I was a little hesitant simply because I was supposed to work the next day, but I was able to find someone to cover my shift and I made it down. I was so grateful that I did because my Aunt Carrie, who lives 3 houses away from where they shoot off the fireworks, sold her house and this was the last 24th of July that we would be able to celebrate together there. It was so much fun!

This is a picture of the UHAUL truck where they shoot off the fireworks, kinda cool, No?

We Walked down to liberty park, just to check things out, there were SO MANY people there, thousands of people. It was so exciting! There was this cute little boy holding up a sign that said "FREE HUGS". He was so cute, I wanted to take a picture but there were so many people that I couldn't stop to do it, any way, here are some pictures of when we were at Liberty Park. They were having a concert, a Spanish concert and I felt as if I was in heaven! It was SO MUCH fun! My cousins, who do not speak Spanish, came with me to check it out, bless their hearts!

This is a picture of me and my sister-in-law Jamie. Isn't she so cute and sweet? I think so!!

This is a picture of me and my BEAUTIFUL mom! I love her!!!

Here are some pictures of some of my cousins... Not all of them though, It takes FOREVER to download the pictures, I have a lot more but I'll have to post them when I have more time... sorry!

Ok, so my cousins have this long board and I thought that I was pretty cool and might even be able to do it, oh how wrong was I!!! I was going to try to take a picture ON the board, but it wasn't happening, so you get a picture of me HOLDING the board... once again... sorry!!!
